What is Naturism?
An extract from Wikipedia
Naturism, or nudism, is a cultural movement practicing, advocating, and defending personal and social nudity, most but not all of which takes place on private property. The term also refers to a lifestyle based on personal, family, or social nudity. Naturism may be practiced individually, within a familial or social context, or in public.
Ethical or philosophical nudism has a long history, with many advocates of the benefits of enjoying nature without clothing. At the turn of the 20th century, organizations emerged to promote social nudity and to establish private campgrounds and resorts for that purpose. Since the 1960s, with the acceptance of public places for clothing-optional recreation, individuals who do not identify themselves as nudists have been able to casually participate in nude activities. Nude recreation opportunities vary widely around the world, from isolated places known mainly to locals to officially-designated nude beaches and parks.
Many people worldwide don't fully understand the whole concept of it. Many still think that it is a sexual thing and that it is creepy old men in long black coats waiting to expose themselves to anyone they can. Naturists or nudists are normal everyday people that can be from any gender, race, or sexuality. There are a lot of famous people in the world that are naturists. There is no sexual part to it at all. It is not about people wanting to see other people naked for some sexual pleasure and it is definitely not about people meeting up to get nude and swap partners - if you were thinking it was then you are very mistaken.
Naturists are ordinary people that prefer not to wear clothing and prefer a lifestyle where they are as they were made - naked. There is still a lot of prejudice towards them just like when people said they were homosexual and were victimized for it. In time people have become more understanding of them and it is globally accepted which gives hope to all naturists or nudists that one day we will be accepted for our lifestyle preference.
Naturists do everyday tasks as per people that wear clothing. They still clean, cook, take out the trash, exercise, socialize, etc but just nude
Many naturists like to go into the countryside and go on walks nude, which in England is 100% legal, but still vigilant groups seem to spend hours of their time to locate these walks and harras them. They don't understand a couple of things. Firstly as I have already stated public nudity is 100 % legal if a naturist is just living their life. Secondly, the way they need to understand it is as follows - Naturists and nudists do not go out to be seen nude, in fact, they go out of their way to try to be away from places where people may be.
The easy way to distinguish between a naturist and a person up to no good is this - a naturist doesn't want to be seen nude by people wearing clothes whereas a person up to no good wants to be seen by people wearing clothes. It is that simple..
Naturists and nudists are some of the most kind, caring, and fully accepting people you will ever find. They don't judge people in any way on how they look, sexual preference, race, etc.
